BIGGEST POST EVER!

I have been neglectful. I have been delinquent. And I guess we have been busy because to catch you up on our happenings, I have to create the biggest post ever, starting with yesterday and going backward:

Brynn had her tonsils and adenoids removed yesterday and ear tubes put in. It all went well but we are home with a sad, sore little girl who is presently coloring, giving her mom a few minutes to tend to the blog.

Even though she felt crummy, she was happy to snuggle with her brothers when we returned home.

Earlier this week, Bryan VH joined us for our monthly dinner. We used to have these meals with his big brother Kevin as well; Kev often makes appearances on the blog. The kids adore Bry but who wouldn't, he is the best!

And he is a good sport for whatever the kids throw at him.

We celebrated Uncle Ken and Aunt Michele's 40th wedding anniversary and Michele's birthday.
Many of the Rooy clan gathered and as always, there is music

and stories read by the sunlight with a great view of the lake.

Despite the chilly water, Brynn enjoys what is likely the last dip of 2012.

Nate was more interested in excavating.

And Eli loved throwing the football with Uncle Ken and Brian.

We visited the Gardens with Jodi and Arie while the big kids were at school.
The pumpkins are out!

Tea for two.

Arie helps Nate and Brynn escape.

We also enjoyed a nearby art festival with our friends the Heyboers.

and hanging out with Luke, Brooke, and Colton (pictured here with Eli)

We took advantage of a Friday off of school to go to Binder Park Zoo with the Van Wingerdens and Smits.

Feeding the giraffes was the highlight.

It is appropriate that they are heading to monkey valley.
